Rideau Carleton Raceway is proud to host two significant stake races each year; both of these stake races attract a significantly higher caliber of horses.

The 29th Des Smith Classic Pace, was run on Sunday June 27th, for a $170,000 purse. Jody Jamieson drove Anderlecht straight to the winner's circle to meet up with his owners from Black Road Stable, Kitchener-Point Zero Seven Racing, Burlington, ON and trainer I. Vrablic. From post position #6, this 5 year old horse was able to tie the track record with an amazing time of 1:49.3.
